The process of bookmarking is quite simple. You simply create an account at the bookmarking sites, log in and then add your bookmarks. You enter keywords (called tags) which categorize your bookmark and allow others to
search, view and vote for your bookmark.

So, with so many sites now, care is needed when posting. You can blast them and end up with diminishing results if its done wrong. There are free and paid tools for doing the submissions. The drawbacks are obvious unless the service restricts the number of posts that are typically immediate and all at once with the free service.
